Essential Oil Deodorant Recipes

Lemon, Bergamot, Tea Tree, Lavender, Rosemary, Ylang Ylang, Geranium

Essential Oil Deodorant Spray Recipe

  • Witch hazel – ½ cup
  • Aloe vera gel – ¼ cup
  • Baking soda – ¼ cup
  • 10 Drops Bergamot Oil
  • 8 Drops Lavender Oil

Info about Ingredients: 

Bergamot essential oil has been used as a natural deodorant for a long time. It has a robust citrusy smell, which is quite refreshing. It has powerful disinfectant properties and is also suitable for skin issues.

Lavender is a soothing oil, both for your body as well as your mind. It calms the skin and helps reduce body odor. When you use it as a deodorant, it also helps to soothe itchy and dry skin. People with sensitive skin issues can also use this essential oil.

This has a wonderful citrus scent with a subtle hint of soft lavender

Time to Make: 2 Minutes


Add witch hazel, aloe vera gel, baking soda, and clary sage oil to a glass spray bottle.

Put the cover and shake well

Shake the glass bottle well before every use

Store the above different deodorants in a dark place out of direct sunlight.

Lavender Deodorant Recipe

  • 3 Tbsp coconut oil
  • 2 Tbsp shea butter
  • 3 Tbsp baking soda
  • 2 tablespoons arrowroot powder
  • 2 drops melaleuca essential oil
  • 3 drops clary sage essential oil
  • 4 drops lavender essential oil
  • Empty deodorant container or glass mason jar

Arrowroot works as a natural thickening agent to hold the ingredients together. Coconut oil has properties that help break down bacteria that cause odor. Shea butter soothes skin and is full of antioxidants. Baking soda absorbs sweat and neutralizes odor causing bacteria. Melaleuca oil works as an antibacterial agent to kill germs and may help neutralize body odor. Clary Sage oil also has antibacterial properties along with anti-inflammatory properties. Lavender not only has a beautiful scent but it also nourishes and soothes skin

Time to Make: 10 minutes?


  • Add coconut oil to glass bowl
  • Add shea butter into same bowl
  • Melt the coconut oil and shea butter (set glass bowl over a pot of boiling water)
  • Remove from heat
  • Stir  in arrowroot powder
  • Stir in baking soda 
  • Add 2 drops melaleuca essential oil
  • Add 3 drops clary sage essential oil
  • Add 4 drops lavender essential oil
  • Mix thoroughly
  • Pour deodorant into empty deodorant container or empty mason jar
  • Use topically as necessary

Note: Mixture may melt if stored in an environment over 76 degrees Fahrenheit. If traveling, store deodorant in an airtight container such as a mason jar. To prevent deodorant mixture from leaking. 

Purify Deodorant Recipe

  • ¼ cup baking soda
  • ¼ cup cornstarch (or arrowroot)
  • 3-5 Tbsp coconut oil
  • 15 drops purify essential oil
  • Deodorant container


  • 1 oz. melted shea butter or 1 oz. melted cocoa butter (if in a warm climate)

Baking soda works to eliminate bad smelling odors. Cornstarch and arrowroot work to absorb moisture and thicken the deodorant mixture. Coconut oil is good for your skin and kills bacteria. Purify oil naturally cleans and neutralizes odors. 

Time to Make: 10 minutes


  • Add baking soda to bowl
  • Add arrowroot to bowl
  • Add purify essential oil to bowl
  • Add coconut oil one Tbsp at a time and mix until at preferred consistency
  • Move mixture into empty deodorant container until coconut oil solidifies. 
  • Apply topically as necessary
